Some people think that you can have only one true friend
One of the main arguments against the idea that you can only have one true friend is that it limits the scope of human relationships. People are complex and multifaceted, and they often have different needs and desires at different times in their lives. Having only one true friend would mean that a person would have to rely on that one person to fulfill all of their emotional, social, and practical needs, which is unrealistic and unwise.
Another argument against the idea that you can only have one true friend is that it suggests that all other relationships are somehow inferior. This is not the case, as many people have close and meaningful relationships with friends, family members, and romantic partners. These relationships can bring joy, comfort, and support, and they are just as important and valuable as any other relationship.
